The Reliance Jio redefines the digital world and the scope of Smartphones

The services and the first beta were launched for Jio partners and employees on 27th December 2015 and later it was formally launched on 5th September 2016 on the 83rd Anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Dhirubhai Ambani.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited is an LTE mobile network operator in India that provides wireless 4G LTE service network without 2G/3G based services and it is the only VoLTE operator in the country which lacks legacy network support of 2G and 3G. It covers 22 telecom circles in India.

Telecommunications has become different
Not until very recently a user used a smartphone to call someone and send text messages. To establish voice calls, networks route the call through a circuit-switched component network. Internet data is routed through a packet-switched component. When network evolved from 1G to 2G, then 3G and 4G, the data component also kept increasing and networks became increasingly packet switched. The communication largely based on Internet Data and the way people communicated also changed. Accordingly, the conversation through phone calls where changed to Skype conversations, text messages were turned to emoticons and video with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger and Hangouts.

The requirement for high-speed internet connectivity
As the days changed the people’s requirement also changed. The requirement to access larger files on the move and this required the users access to high-speed mobile internet connectivity. The requirement for internet connectivity kept increasing giving rise to 4G high-speed connectivity. Users are connected to the internet around the clock as it serves most of their life’s daily requirements.

The rising prospect
When almost all our life’s requirements are handled by our Smart devices, it can be adequately said we are at a saturated point where IoT will be predominate, and anything and everything will come under Internet Protocol. When he added Jio, he said that with the launch of Jio, India would surely move ahead among the top ten.

Reliance offers 4G Broadband
With a network of more than 250000 kms of fiber optic cables in the country, Jio offers fourth-generation (4G) data and voice services, along with peripheral services like instant messaging and streaming movies and music.
It has a plan to partner with local cable operators to get broader connectivity for its broadband services. Jio will also serve as a TV channel distributor and will offer television-on-demand on its network with its multi-service operator (MSO) license.

LYF Smartphones
Jio hand entered into an agreement with handset manufacturer like Intex to supply 4G handsets in June 2015. Later around October 2015, Jio announced that it would be launching its own mobile handset brand named LYF.

Jionet Wi-Fi
Prior to its pan-India launch of 4G data and telephony services, Jio has started providing free Wi-Fi hotspot services in cities almost all the cities of India. In March 2016, Jio started providing free Wi-Fi internet to spectators at six cricket stadiums hosting the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 matches. It was made available to many stadiums across the country.

Jio Apps
In May 2016, Jio launched a bundle of multimedia apps on Google Play as part of its upcoming 4G services. While the apps are available to download for everyone, a user will require a Jio SIM card to use them. Additionally, most of the apps are in beta phase.
Affordable 4G Phones
Reliance Jio has teamed up with Google to manufacture affordable 4G handsets. These phones will run exclusively on Jio network. The two companies are also working on developing software for smart-TV services. Both are expected to launch in 2017.

JioFi
Jio has also launched Wi-Fi routers by the name JioFi.
Reliance Jio also launched 4G VoLTE feature phones will have basic hardware, with 2.4-inch screen, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage with expansion support via microSD cards, 2-megapixel rear camera, and VGA front camera. Apart from the Jio SIM for 4G connectivity, the feature phones are also said to have Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS. Dedicated buttons for MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, and JioMusic apps were also included as the features of the phone. 4G Volt feature phones can help Reliance Jio penetrate the rural market as well as users of low-end phones who want high-speed Internet.

  • Reliance Jio promises of lifetime free voice calling ice call forever. No roaming charges will be applicable and no extra cost on public holidays. Data tariff starts from Rs 19 per day to Rs 4999 per month and Jio offers is Rs 50 per GB for a month against other competitors across the world.
  • Reliance has paired with almost all the big brands in the market like Samsung, Micromax and LG to provide Jio SIM cards with them with free voice and data for three months.
  • Largest 100 per cent VoLTE network that helps the user to talk over the phone and use the internet.
  • Reliance Jio has launched Jio Fi router at Rs 1,999 and the minimum price of new LYF phone will be Rs. 2,999.
  • Students can avail 25% extra data by presenting the valid ID proof.

Reliance Jio has actually redefined the mobile experiences in several ways. It has many built-in apps.
